Philia has a special liking for baking since young. At a tender age, she would frequent bakeries to try out all their items and her favorite item is butter cake. She believes in baking a good butter cake not only requires good ingredients. Good techniques and skills are vital to get the moist, fragrance and fluffy butter cake that she can serve and put a smile to all her friends and family.
Baking cured her migraine and she has never stop baking since then. Baking holds a very special place in her heart and it is a very therapeutic process for her. The aroma and taste of her freshly homebaked goods are enjoyed by many.
She loves making friends through baking, and this has led her to start conducting small classes for her friends and regular customers. Not only does she get to know more friends, they also learn from each other during the class. Conducting baking classes filled with joy and laughter is definitely enjoyable!
She has also attended many classes to expand her knowledge and techniques as baking is a never ending learning process. During her free time, she writes her own recipes and she has started an online baking business “Ophelia. Treats” for dessert table orders.

After completing her Diploma in Cake-Baking, Julie did not rest on her laurels and continuously strive to improve her skills by taking up courses such as Advanced Bread Making, Petits Fours and Cake Decoration. Her most recent course was at the Macaron Pastry Training Center in Bangkok under the mentorship of Chef Eric Perez, whom she credits as a huge inspiration. Besides widening her baking horizons in Modern French Baking and Chocolate Confectioneries, Chef Eric’s lifelong devotion and creativity in baking have left a deep impression on her.
For over a decade, Julie has been giving lessons in baking and cooking on a freelance basis at Julie’s Baking Lab. As a creative soul, Julie has been holding bakery classes themed around pastries and produces in different regions and styles. She contributes recipes periodically to Lianhe Zaobao under Da Jia Chu Fang column for the Chinese readers.

Clarielle started baking as a hobby and soon fell in love with it, taking a leap of faith by having a career switch mid-way. From cupcakes to French pastry, Clarielle loves the intricacies of decorating and makes everything as pretty and as unique as possible.
“Being a perfectionist, I’ll try something over and over till I get it right.”
Clarielle’s favourite person in the world, her grandma, was also a baker. Not only was her grandma her biggest inspiration, she was also taught to be always hardworking and to never stop learning.
Equipped with both her grandma’s handwritten recipes and books from her favourite pastry chefs, Clarielle is always fine-tuning her skills. With a natural passion for teaching, be prepared for her to go all out during her classes as she shares everything she knows on her love for baking and decorating.
Clarielle is also no stranger to teaching kids as she bakes often with her almost 4-year old son, Gabriel. Using her profession as an opportunity to show her son that it is possible to pursue your dreams through hard work and determination.
