Following his undergraduate training at Guy’s Hospital (q. 1986) and 3 years on a GP Training Scheme (MRCGP 1991), Dr Simon Clift worked in East Africa in primary health care & public health as a mission partner with Crosslinks.

Previously Director of Health Services at InterHealth, Simon is a Consultant in Occupational Medicine and a member of his local Anglican Church in Southampton and a lay representative for the Winchester Diocese on General Synod.

Dr Michelle Tufnell qualified in medicine in 2006 at Imperial College, London. She gained experience in general medicine and haematology for the next 8 years, working in hospitals in and around London. During this time she gained her Membership of the Royal College of Physicians. In 2014 she decided to pursue her interest in travel medicine, and joined InterHealth as a travel health clinician, as well as working for an international medical assistance company.

Michelle’s husband was ordained in the Church of England in 2010, and after his curacy and period as an Associate Vicar, they moved to Dorset with their three young children in 2018, where he took up his first incumbency. As well as her active role within the church, Michelle now works part time for another medical assistance company in the area, where she has been developing their occupational travel health services. She gained her Membership of the Faculty of Travel Medicine in 2023.  

Michelle completed a Diploma in Occupational Medicine in 2019 and she has been working as an occupational health physician at Thrive since 2021, with a particular focus on occupational health for church ministers. 

Dr Richard Roope studied Psychology at University of Cambridge prior to studying medicine at University of London. Richard worked as a GP in Hampshire for more than 20 years, and is a specialist Occupational Health physician with an MSc in Occupational Medicine. For the past 5 years, Richard has been a Senior Clinical Advisor for Cancer Research UK, a part time role he combines with occupational health medicine. He is an active member of his local Anglican church, and a member of the Christian Medical Fellowship.

Dr Louisa Egbe studied Medicine at Southampton University (2002) and has worked in the Hampshire area since. She is currently a Family Doctor and her role helped her see the relationship between work and health firsthand. To further develop this interest, she studied Occupational Medicine at the University of Manchester, gaining a Diploma from the Faculty of Occupational Medicine.

She enjoys her role at Thrive Worldwide, where she works part time. Louisa lives with her husband and 2 children. She treasures her Christian faith and enjoys music, long walks, swimming and a good book.

Claire trained as a nurse in Northern Ireland, working in Respiratory Medicine before moving to London to complete the Diploma of Tropical Nursing at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.  While living and working in London, Claire loved the multicultural vibe and so ended up staying for almost 17 years.  In those years she worked in an Infectious Disease Unit, led a Community Tuberculosis Nursing Team and completed her Nurse Prescribing course before moving into Travel Health Nursing.  Claire nursed with Interhealth and then with the charity Tearfund, assessing and equipping volunteers for their overseas travels.  Claire now works with Thrive Worldwide, delivering Health Briefings and supporting people both in the UK and further afield to be healthy and resilient in their roles and missions.  Claire is passionate about seeing people Thrive in the Church and Charity sectors so they can lead and serve their communities as happily and healthily as possible.

When Claire is not nursing, she is found running around after her 4 small children or drinking coffee somewhere with friends.

Dr Nicolette Price studied Medicine at King’s college London (1993) and then moved to Manchester to undertake 3 years GP training. She then moved to Hampshire and worked as a GP until 2004. Whilst working in the field of Disability assessment she became interested in Occupational Medicine and gained experience and qualifications whilst working in a training post at St Thomas’s Hospital in London, where she worked from 2012-2014.

In 2014 she moved to Scotland with her family where she continued to work in the field of Occupational Medicine. In addition to her work for thrive Nicolette also works part time for a small OH provider in Glasgow, where she performs fitness for work and visa medicals. In her spare time Nicolette enjoys being outdoors whenever possible, where she pursues her hobbies of walking, horse riding and gardening.

Dr Anna Ballinger graduated from Liverpool University Medical School in 2003 and has worked as a doctor for over 20 years. She completed her General Practitioner (GP) training in Liverpool in 2009. She has been working as a GP for over 15 years and as a Senior Clinical lecturer at the School of Medicine at the University of Liverpool. She completed her Diploma in Occupational Medicine in May 2021 and has been working for the last 2.5 years as an Occupational Health Physician. Anna works for Thrive part time and also works for an OH provider in Liverpool.

Anna is passionate about promoting mental, physical and spiritual health and wellbeing. She is active in her local church and spends her free time with her family on the Wirral.
