Vocal lessons, guitar, piano, ukulele, beatboxing, and vocal arranging are all offered from absolute beginners to those wanting to take their learning to the next level. All of this with a certified music educator who has taught grades K-12 for the past 17 years. Your first lesson is free of charge. Voice lessons are offered for all ability levels and in all styles. I was trained classically at Michigan State and Florida State University but most enjoy singing pop and musical theater for my own personal enjoyment. I am happy to help you achieve your goals in whatever style you are interested in. My philosophy on teaching voice is that the techniques used can be applied to any style successfully.

Ukulele lessons are offered at the beginner through intermediate levels. If you’re a fan of America’s Got Talent winner Grace Vanderwaal or are simply intrigued by the island sound of this instrument we can help you get off your feet and on the path to enjoying playing the ukulele. This is also a fantastic instrument to begin learning on for younger students who would like to eventually play the guitar. Ukuleles are smaller instruments perfect for smaller bodies and the basics you learn will translate directly to the guitar even if the chords are not exactly the same (although many are very similar!) Must have your own ukulele to bring to lessons.

Piano lessons are offered at the beginner and advanced beginner levels currently. If you’ve taken lessons for 1 year or less these lessons are for you with some exceptions for those who have played longer. We will get you headed down the right path with posture, hand position, music reading, and everything you will need to continue into more advanced levels of playing in the future. Students should have an instrument to practice on at home (electronic or acoustic piano).

Guitar lessons are offered from beginning through intermediate levels. Want to learn chords? From proper hand/arm position to building up finger strength we can do that together. Want to learn how to read and play in TAB notation? We can do that together. Want to learn how to play your favorite song? We can do that together. Must have your own guitar to bring to lessons.

Are you a fan of the Pitch Perfect movies? Pentatonix? Have you always wanted to make unique sounds with your mouth but just didn’t know how to begin? Then this is for you! Learn how to “boots and cats” with the best of them. Beatboxing lessons are offered from beginning through advanced levels in most styles. Learn from someone who’s been beat boxing for over 20 years.

If you’re an a cappella fan and want to learn how to write music for a group of singers to come together and jam out to the newest song on the radio or if you have your own idea of Bohemian Rhapsody floating around in your head, we can help you gain the skills necessary to do that. From mini music theory lessons to working through your first vocal arrangement on paper or computer you will learn from someone who’s been arranging for a cappella groups of all ages for over 20 years.
