About
Gaia has been writing and performing music, originals and covers, for almost 15 years, with humble beginnings in High School musicals to now performing weekly within Melbourne’s eclectic music hub. Straight out of High School, she started her tertiary learning in 2013 at AMPA, Academy of Music and Performing Arts located in Sydney’s CBD. For the next 3 years, Gaia studied music history, harmony, musicianship, songwriting and performance, while undergoing intensive one-on-one vocal training to further develop her own voice. In 2016, Gaia graduated with a Bachelor of Music with a major in Contemporary Vocals and has since been performing as both a solo artist and within her folk trio, Snail.
The technical element of musical knowledge Gaia learned in her studies has since been married with her deep emotional connection to the voice, exploring the power of embodied expression as a healing modality and as a means to connect more deeply with herself and with her audience.
Over the past few years, Gaia has worked sporadically for a number of music schools, as a vocal coach and guitar teacher, but more recently she’s been focussed on developing her own course to encompass the necessary technical training as well as intention, embodiment, power and authenticity in expression.
Gaia is currently offering one-on-one sessions with anyone who is looking to expand their understanding of music, voice and honest expression. These sessions include warm ups and scales (new scales every few weeks), movement and embodiment practices and focus time to work on a song of your choice, whether that be a cover or original. On top of that, Gaia offers weekly notes and homework to ensure that you’re on the right track with your learning and have access to the tools to develop your practice in your own time as well.

We also spend a portion of the sessions setting an intention for each practice. We establish a connection from our emotion to the lyrics we're singing, while developing the tool set to harness our unique vocal flair and talent.

Song-Writing Workshop
This offering is designed to assist anyone learning how to express themselves through the medium of music. This class will focus mainly on lyric writing and workshopping, learning how to establish harmonic structure (which is essentially just the framework for writing a song) and developing the tools to get tapped into your ever-present channel of inspiration and flow. We pair these sessions with a daily commitment to stream-of-consciousness journaling to unlock our true story and expression. This practice is incredibly beneficial to song-writing as it connects our conscious minds/cognition with our “subconscious”, granting us access to our innate artistry. These sessions are a place to show up as your authentic self and to explore the thoughts and emotions that are calling to be expressed through an artistic medium. It is my greatest pleasure to hold space for those who are ready to explore their own artistry.
