This course covers the Water Regulations (1999) and is a necessary requirement for qualified plumbers (minimum Level 2) looking to join their local water authorities Water Industry Approved Plumber Scheme, one of the plumbing competent person schemes (CPS) and Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) registration bodies.

This course is a prerequisite for heat pump installation. This course includes a comprehensive guide and workbook.

1 DAY COURSE

This Energy Efficiency (Part L) course for Gas Fired and Oil Fired Domestic Heating and Hot Water Systems is designed to enable you to understand and be competent when carrying out the design of heating systems in accordance with Part L of the Building Regulations.

This course is a prerequisite for heat pump installation.

This Legionella Prevention and Water Treatment Course is designed to help plumbers, operators and managers comply with the guidance published in the HSE Document Approved Code of Practice (ACoP) L8. The course will help learners comply with their legal duties including identifying and assessing sources of risk, preparing a scheme to prevent or control risk, implementing, managing and monitoring precautions and keeping records of control measures taken.

There are two versions of the course available – for plumbers and operators that carry out work on the water supply system and for supervisors and managers who are responsible for management of water systems in properties under their control.

Course Description (3 Day)

This course is aimed at experienced heating installers who wish to expand their knowledge & skills to include fitting heat pumps in domestic and small commercial properties.  It will also enable you to meet the training entry requirements for the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS).

Completion of the course will provide you with a Level 3 Certification, increasing your credibility and giving you the competitive edge, as well as showing your customers that you are trained to the highest of standards.

How long is the course and what is included?

This course is 3 days in total. The cost of the course includes training, assessment, the certification fee and course material.

What does the course cover?

The Air Source Heat Pump Installation Course will enable operatives to specify, survey, design and install domestic or small commercial heat pump systems, enlisting manufacturers support where required. Systems up to 16kW for air source heat pumps are covered, plus the following areas:

This way, you will leave us fully qualified and able to install and maintain Air Source Heat Pumps and apply for MCS Certification.

You will also need to provide any Plumbing, Heating/Ventilation, Gas or Oil certificates you currently hold.

How will I learn and be assessed?

The Air Source Heat Pump Installation Course entails both classroom and practical training, finishing with a practical & theoretical assessment at the end of day 3.

During the training candidates will have the opportunity to work a fully functioning heat pump rig and work on live equipment within a functioning plant room.

2 DAY COURSE

This Hot Water System & Safety (including Unvented Hot Water Systems) course is designed to provide you with all you need to know about Hot Water Systems and Safety (formerly known as Unvented systems or “G3”).

This course covers all hot water systems, replacing the previous LOGIC Certified hot water course to incorporate the recently revised G3 Building Regulation.

It is also a prerequisite for those looking to expand into solar thermal installation. As well as the content of the previous unvented hot water systems training the course also includes the new requirements for both vented and unvented systems under G3.

The Hot Water Systems and Safety certificate is recognised by those Competent Person Schemes (CPS) approved to offer a self-certification scheme under Approved document G (ADG), enabling installers of hot water systems (including Unvented HWS) to self-certify the installation.
