Aine McCarthy
Starting in first grade sewing doll clothes by hand, Aine grew up as a garment sewer — learning from her mom and using the sewing machine as soon as she was big enough to reach the pedals. She learned home decor sewing and made curtains, drapes, cushions and bedding for every home she lived in.
She discovered the world of machine embroidery and applique 20 years ago and enjoys the world of creating, editing and digitizing designs. Retiring from veterinary medicine, she teaches sewing classes and works part-time for her favorite sewing center.

Karen LaMendola
Karen lives in Bonita Springs Florida with her husband and two dogs. She has two sons and a grandson that lives close by that she spends time with as much as possible. When not doing machine embroidery, she loves to quilt and do needlepoint. Karen has taught digitizing software in southwest Florida.
A daily user of Perfect Embroidery Pro, Karen believes DIME software is the easiest to learn. In Karen’s opinion, DIME software is the Microsoft of the machine embroidery world.

Laurie Albrecht
Laurie Albrecht has been teaching sewing and machine arts classes for over 35 years since she received her degree in Home Economics Education/Textiles and Apparel. She lives in Illinois with her husband and enjoys traveling to visit her three grown children and two grandchildren. Laurie was introduced to her first embroidery machine, a Janome 8000, in 1993. Machine embroidery became a passion as she could combine embroidery with her garment construction, heirloom sewing, and home decorating.
In 2002, Laurie began working with embroidery software so she could make her own designs. She has taught secondary and adult students and has worked with several sewing machine dealers across the Midwest. Laurie has used DIME software products since 2017 and has taught monthly DIME Users Group classes for her local dealer since 2018. The DIME software products are so intuitive and user-friendly. Her favorites include Perfect Embroidery Pro, My Lace Maker, and the new Patch and Applique Maker. She currently embroiders with two single needle machines and one multi-needle. In addition to teaching, Laurie enjoys English Smocking by hand, and designing new clothes for her granddaughter. She is a Licensed Martha Pullen Instructor in heirloom sewing, garment construction, quilting, and sergers.
