I love math! And I love getting to know my students and helping them achieve their goals. I'm a credentialed high school math teacher with 14 years of experience, a BA in Math from UC Berkeley, an MA in Teaching Math, and National Board Certification. I’ve taught internationally for 5 years, in South Korea, Taiwan, and France, and I’ve also taught at the College Preparatory School, ranked number one in California and number five in the nation, for 7 years. I served as chair of the math department there for two years before relocating to Phoenix where I taught at Phoenix Country Day School. I have a deep understanding of the learning process and am passionate about working with students to help them strengthen their mathematical thinking. I use an iPad Pro and Zoom to tutor virtually. This allows students to see my writing in real time as we work together. And, I record the sessions so that students can review and refer back to what we learned on their own time. I am dedicated to the success of my students! In my free time, I enjoy birdwatching, discussing philosophy, and spending time with my pets.

Greetings my name is Oju Daniel-Kalio - fondly referred to as Mr. DK.  My early years were spent in sub-Saharan Africa.  I then journeyed to the southeastern peninsula of North America where I received a BS in MIS from Florida Atlantic University. After which I spent 13 years teaching mathematics to the full spectrum of competencies. In addition to that I have conducted quality control for a major test writer. I look forward to our future success as we prepare to beat this test!

Sara Kohn is the Executive Director of Test Preparation for American Heritage Schools.  She has been specializing in SAT/PSAT/ACT preparation for the past 15 years.  She has developed and implemented some of the most successful test preparation programs in the country, resulting in score increases of hundreds of points.  She is passionate about education and holds a Master of Science degree as well as numerous certifications.

Lance Kohn has been teaching SAT/PSAT/ACT preparation for the past 10 years.  Originally from California, he proudly served in the Navy before moving to Florida to pursue his career in education. He has worked with hundreds of students of all levels over the years and is passionate about helping students to increase their scores and achieve their dreams.

Alexa Evans is an experienced instructor for ACT, SAT, and PSAT prep. She is a former National Merit Scholar, a graduate of Columbia University, and has several years of experience as a math teacher. She has expertise in both the content and the strategies students need to excel on these tests.

Matthew Muzzarelli is an SAT/ACT tutor and teacher with more than 12 years of experience working with motivated students all across Broward and Palm Beach counties. His educational resume includes being the Educational Director for a private tutoring company where he wrote and developed SAT/ACT online apps as well as face-to-face training programs for students at all skill levels. Matthew has been elected teacher of the year several times over the past decade. He has taught math to children as young as the second grade all the way through MCAT preparation. His creative, high energy approach to teaching offers his students superior ways of studying in addition to improved test taking

techniques.

For over 20 years as an educator, Ross has brought his passion for learning to students in the classroom and privately.  Ross focuses on more than subject material, but also on strategies for improved study skills, test taking, memory and performance.

Ross brings his unique background in yoga and nutrition to his Math and English Language Arts teaching.  His students are expected to demonstrate competency through “homework” lessons as well as during one-on-one sessions. Email me directly for additional times, if needed!

Angela Tedesco is a former social studies teacher of 10 years and current tutor of topics including SAT/ACT prep, reading and writing support, college essay development and executive functioning skills. She holds an active secondary social studies teaching certification in Connecticut. With a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Connecticut, she has developed and taught various academic courses, including Advanced Placement, for secondary students. In addition to being a tutor, she is a university supervisor for secondary social studies student teachers through Central Connecticut State University.

During tutoring sessions, she prioritizes students’ productivity and encourages them to be active participants in their learning. She places great importance on tutoring sessions being productive and beneficial for her students, which means tailoring each session to fit the needs of individual students. Her kind, considerate approach to teaching puts students at ease and helps them build confidence, whether they are working in person or remotely.

Jodi has worked in a variety of both public and private schools teaching and tutoring students from kindergarten through 12th grade. Her favorite subject is math and she enjoys helping improve the confidence of her students in this area. Jodi is a proud alum of Cornell University for her undergraduate degree and Northwestern University for her graduate degree. Her hobbies include reading  John Grisham novels, watching sports and movies, working on math and word puzzles, and spending time with her husband, son, 2 cats (Batman and Pecan) and friends.

Jon began teaching during his Sophomore year in college alongside his chemistry and psychology professors, learning their teaching methods and gaining teaching experience along the way. He has now been a full-time PSAT, SAT, and ACT tutor for more than 12 years.

His teaching approach is based on methods backed by educational research, with a focus on combining simple, effective ways to teach content with proven test strategies and adaptive test prep planning to achieve impressive score improvements. Jon's knowledge of multiple approaches to each concept allows him to tailor lessons to fit each student’s unique learning style. Students learn how to simplify each question into straightforward parts, allowing them to more easily arrive at the correct answer, build confidence, and prove to themselves that they have the skill and ability to achieve their goal score. 

His academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, and supplemental instruction in six university courses. With extensive tutoring experience and enthusiasm for analyzing tests, he has been able to help students gain admission to their top choice universities, secure millions of dollars in merit scholarships, and earn prestigious awards, including the PSAT National Merit Scholarship, presidential scholarships, and more. 

Jon believes that with a strong work ethic and expert guidance, any academic goal is possible. In his free time, he writes music, plays guitar, and spends time with family and friends.
