Alisha Ross
This is Alisha Ross’s second year as a head coach and first year as the Director of Operations at Challenge Volleyball Club (CVC). Overall, she has six years of experience as an indoor volleyball coach and one year as a beach volleyball coach under her belt. While having been the Head Jr. High Volleyball Coach at Northlake Christian School (NCS) since 2016, she also spent one year coaching with Southern Elite Training Academy before coming to CVC.
Alisha grew up playing volleyball at the popular Slidell youth organization SBYA and continued to play more competitively at Northshore High School (NHS) as a defensive specialist. Although she has a strong arm, she often finds herself stressing the high importance of defense and setting, two of the most underrated aspects of the game.
Her true passion for the court is watching athletes gain confidence and determination through their abilities, master mental toughness, and put to practice game-winning strategies. Alisha teaches her athletes that it is not only important to read the ball and have quick responses but to also read the competition and plan and execute tactics. As a coach, she understands that not every player receives instruction, encouragement, or discipline the same way, so it is crucial to her to learn each athlete on an individual level to better help them understand and succeed at the game.
Alisha believes that every athlete can benefit from a positive attitude and belief in themselves more than they ever will from skill and talent. Guiding athletes to be well-rounded team players on the court, as well as in the community and classroom, is what ultimately continues to drive her as a coach. Alisha hopes to lead this season by example.
Elyssa Purcell
Challenge Volleyball Club

Elyssa Purcell
This is Elyssa Purcell’s second season with Challenge Volleyball Club (CVC) and her fifth-year overall coaching club volleyball. She is also the head coach for Christ Episcopal School (CES) located in Covington, LA. Elyssa began playing volleyball when she was twelve and continued to play at the collegiate level at Southeastern University Louisiana (SLU). When it comes to the different aspects of the game, she is most passionate about the setting. Elyssa believes that it is not only important to develop skills on the court but to develop good character and quality traits off the court as well. Comfort in her athletes’ learning environment is of the utmost importance to Elyssa, and as a coach, she strives to have an approach that accommodates young, high school athletes.
Hannah White
Challenge Volleyball Club

Hannah White
This is Hannah White’s first season coaching with Challenge Volleyball Club (CVC). Aside from this year, she also has three years of coaching experience with Louisiana Volleyball (LAVB) and her alma mater, Northlake Christian School (NCS). Hannah found the love of playing volleyball when she was in fifth grade at NCS and was soon introduced to travel volleyball in seventh grade through LAVB. After high school, she went on to play at the collegiate level at Faulkner State and then transferred to the University of Mobile where she played both indoor and beach volleyball. Hannah is passionate about watching a player grow in the sport, especially in something that may not be their strongest specialty. Teamwork means everything to her, mainly since indoor volleyball is a sport that involves six players who all have to work together to succeed. Hannah believes that being on a team is more like being a part of a family because of the many things players and coaches must grow through together.
